Juz Kitson is currently showing in ‘Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light’ in Venice, Italy.

The fourth edition of Homo Faber Biennial invites viewers to discover over 800 artworks by over 500 artisans that explore the fundamental relationship between light, materials and the human hand.

Inspired by the archipelago of the Venetian lagoon, Artistic Director Es Devlin has created a narrative that unites the work of hundreds of individual craft artists from across the world – each an island of talent and skill within the wider waters of craftsmanship – on San Giorgio Maggiore.

A huge congratulations to Natasha Bieniek, who has been announced as the winner of the 2026 John Leslie Art Prize with her work, Labyrinth.

Established in 2000, the John Leslie Art Prize is a biennial national award for landscape painting presented by Gippsland Art Gallery. Measuring just 8 x 6 cm, Labyrinth is a striking example of Natasha’s ongoing exploration of miniature painting and her ability to capture extraordinary depth and detail at an intimate scale.

The winning work will now be acquired for the Gippsland Art Gallery’s permanent collection.

Congratulations to Michael Cook, who has been selected as a finalist in the 2026 National Photographic Portrait Prize with his work, ‘Walkabout’.

Opening today at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, the exhibition brings together finalists from across Australia in one of the country’s leading awards for photographic portraiture. A selection of works will tour to regional galleries across Australia.

NOW SHOWING - Tim Price

We are delighted to present ‘The moon’s raining’, an online exhibition by Tim Price, his first with the gallery.

Tim Price is a Sydney-based painter whose practice unfolds through an ongoing dialogue between observation, imagination, and the experience of painting itself.

“I’ve been painting everyday things from around the city. Ordinary moments drift into view while I’m walking, a plane flying in over the buildings and trees, flowers growing in the suburbs. They feel meaningful and beautiful without having an obvious reason why. One of the wonderful things about being alive is finding magic in the everyday. In the same way someone might buy a lottery ticket or watch the footy for a bit of excitement, I stop to look at flowers in the suburbs.” - Tim Price.

’The moon’s raining’ is now showing exclusively online until 5 September.
